Carter County Museum's 9th Annual Dino Shindig was well attended this year as the event continues to be one of the more anticipated summer events in Ekalaka. This year, forty-three volunteers worked a total of 850 hours to make the Shindig possible. Carter County Museum will be opening its warehouses to the public during the Days of ‘85. The warehouses, located just south of town on Hwy 323, will be open from 10 a.m. to 2p.m. on Saturday, August 14. Warehouse 1 includes over 80 percent of museum fossils and some historical artifacts that are not on display in the museum. Frank Klauzer, 98, passed away on February 16, 2021 in Andover, Kansas. His goal has always been to live to 100, and he got close, but unfortunately not all the way.
