    Private Annette Lovec graduated from basic combat training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri on September 26. Her mother, Melissa Lovec, and sister, Holland Lovec, traveled to attend the short ceremony held at 9 a.m. that morning. Lovec will now stay at Fort Leonard Wood where she will complete her advanced individual training to become a horizontal construction engineer (military occupational specialty 12N).   • Annual Bazaar, Nov. 23

    Sagebrush Service Club will once again be sponsoring a holiday bazaar in Ekalaka. The annual event will take place on Saturday, November 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Carter County High School. Free babysitting for preschool age children will be provided throughout the day, and lunch, coffee and pie will be available. Door prizes will be drawn every 30 minutes.     Michael Millward officially started work as the new Fallon and Carter County Extension agent on September 3. Millward grew up in the small town of Bicknell in south central Utah. Growing up he was involved in 4-H and showed sheep and cattle at the county fair. “When I was young, Suffolk sheep were the thing to have,” he told the Eagle on Monday.     Judges had a difficult time picking winners upon conclusion of the 2019 Days of '85 parade due to a large number of entries. The parade was one of the finest in the last several years.     Fulton and Betty Jo Castleberry both grew up in Carter County and graduated from Carter County High School. Fulton grew up in Ekalaka and Betty Jo (LaBree) Castleberry grew up on O'Fallon Creek 17 miles northwest of Ekalaka.     Southeast Electric Cooperative held an annual meeting last Friday. After several year's of holding the meeting at Carter County High School, employees decided to try something new this year and instead held the meeting at the truck shop behind the cooperative building.
