    I read with great interest the article on the back page of the April 3 Eagle about George Yellow Eyes. I saw him play many times and he was indeed a great player. I only saw him in 1957, so didn't see him in his best years. Terry's Glen Kuehn describes the buzzer beater in the semifinals of the tournament in 1957.     On March 25, Carter County received notification that the local food bank would be receiving a $1,500 grant from the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation in response to the COVID-19 crisis. The notification states that the foundation “recognizes that due to the on-going health crisis the world is currently facing, many local non-profits are experiencing unprecedented increase in demand for their local services.” The money will be used to restock the food bank with essential items.     Governor Bullock recently issued a directive extending the renewal deadline by 90 days for driver licenses expiring in March, April, and May 2020. These credentials will be reported as valid in government systems during this grace period even though the physical card and paper show expired.     In a meeting on Tuesday, county commissioners made the decision to keep the doors locked at Carter County Courthouse. The commission originally ordered the closure of all county public offices for two weeks.
