    There's no better way to see the sights than on horseback or in a horse-drawn wagon. A nearby wagon and trail ride is taking place September 12-18. Once that goal is met, Shoes With Heart, a Florida-based organization, will pick them up in exchange for $10,000 to go toward adopting the couple’s first child.     Carter County Museum's 9th Annual Dino Shindig was well attended this year as the event continues to be one of the more anticipated summer events in Ekalaka. This year, forty-three volunteers worked a total of 850 hours to make the Shindig possible.     Carter County Museum will be opening its warehouses to the public during the Days of ‘85. The warehouses, located just south of town on Hwy 323, will be open from 10 a.m. to 2p.m. on Saturday, August 14. Warehouse 1 includes over 80 percent of museum fossils and some historical artifacts that are not on display in the museum.     The Town of Ekalaka plans to use over $1.6 million in combined funding to replace nearly one mile of aging water lines. Construction is scheduled to take place in the summer of 2022, according to a preliminary engineering report completed by Great West Engineering of Billings. The announcement comes after continued high temperatures and drought conditions have plagued the area.
