    CCHS defeated Plevna in three straight sets to win their homecoming volleyball match last Saturday in Ekalaka. The Lady Bulldogs won 25-11, 25-14 and 25-12. Plevna struggled to return serves as Blue compiled 29 aces. Zoie Rost led the way with 8 of them. Meanwhile, Plevna was held without an ace throughout the entirety of the match.   • Free flu shot clinic next week

    Public Health has partnered with The Caring Foundation to bring to a two day free flu shot clinic to Carter County. Individuals may choose between two days, either September 30 or October 1. The clinic is open to all ages 6 months and older. A parent or guardian must accompany children under 18 years of age. The department asks that individuals bring their insurance card with them even though the clinic is free to all. COVID-19 vaccine is also available for anyone interested....

Around 60 attended last year and about 75 turned out in 2019.     Concrete is being poured this week outside the new connecting wing at Ekalaka Public Schools. The project is now in its final stages. Aside from the exterior concrete, the new building still needs glass for one interior window as well as two exterior doors.     Thank you to the organizers of the Carter County Fair parade on August 14, 2021. It was a great parade and theme. I was honored to ride with the four hometown heroes on the float. I worked with them and they always made bad situations turn out the best way they could. Peb Cline was also a patriot who served the United States as well as a hometown hero.
