CCHS defeated Plevna in three straight sets to win their homecoming volleyball match last Saturday in Ekalaka. The Lady Bulldogs won 25-11, 25-14 and 25-12. Public Health has partnered with The Caring Foundation to bring to a two day free flu shot clinic to Carter County. Individuals may choose between two days, either September 30 or October 1. The clinic is open to all ages 6 months and older. A parent or guardian must accompany children under 18 years of age. One hundred four members signed in at Dahl Memorial Healthcare Association's annual meeting last Thursday night at Carter County Events Center. Carter County is seeking public input regarding the County Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan Update. The current plan was developed in 2013 and has expired the usual five-year life span. This year the Carter County High School Bulldogs will play football against the Wildcats of Plentywood. Concrete is being poured this week outside the new connecting wing at Ekalaka Public Schools. The project is now in its final stages. Aside from the exterior concrete, the new building still needs glass for one interior window as well as two exterior doors. School officials are hopeful that they can begin moving into the new offices that are a part of the connecting wing sometime in the next few weeks, pending the completion of the last items on the project's checklist. Thank you to the organizers of the Carter County Fair parade on August 14, 2021. It was a great parade and theme. I was honored to ride with the four hometown heroes on the float. I worked with them and they always made bad situations turn out the best way they could. Peb Cline was also a patriot who served the United States as well as a hometown hero. Adam Miller spent a few grades during his elementary school years living in a small town of around 100 people, so he's experienced small town living before. A record crowd was entertained during the 2021 Carter County Fair Pet Parade last Friday. Seventeen entries consisted of a variety of pets. The animals included a duck, a goat, a Highlander, horses, a llama, a pony, sheep and dogs of all shapes and sizes.
