    Preliminary enrollment figures released by the Office of Public Instruction Thursday show a slight increase in Montana's K-12 student population this fall - the second consecutive year of gains following a significant dip during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.     The CCHS Lady Bulldogs handily beat both non-conference opponents they took on in two away games over the weekend to improve their record to 4-0 on the season. On Friday against Broadview/Lavina, Lady Blue won, 54-30. As a team, they shot 71 percent on free throws and 31 percent from the field.     Slug was born in Broadus, Montana in 1943, to Jack C. and Margaret (Williams) Mills. He was a large baby and the doctor commented "he's a helluva slug". The nickname stuck.
