Last Friday, a free will donation supper and silent auction was held at the Parish Hall. The proceeds from the event went to the family of Quentin LaFollette, infant son of Leah and Scott LaFollette of Ekalaka, MT. Quentin has gone through two surgeries in his first three months of life and will require one more when he is two years of age. The CCHS Bulldogs finished their 2017 volleyball season at the Eastern C Divisional Tournament in Sidney last weekend. In their first game of the tournament, Lady Blue lost three consecutive sets to Savage, 18-25, 16-25, and 9-25. Tori Tooke led the team in kills (7 out of the team's 21) and assists (10 of 20). U.S. SENATE — U.S. Senator Steve Daines secured an agreement between JD.com, one of China’s largest retailers and the Montana Stockgrowers Association with the intent to purchase a minimum of $200 million in Montana-sourced beef over the next several years. Hello, They are forecasting single digit lows for tonight. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. It happens every year about this time. Carter County Senior Citizens Club was recently awarded a $200 mini-grant from The Governor's Advisory Council on Aging. This grant was presented to Karen Carroll, Carter County Senior Citizens Coordinator, at the Governor's Conference on Aging in Glendive on September 13. Attendance numbers have been dropping at Carter County Chamber of Commerce meetings for several months. Board members have struggled to accomplish goals that were set at the beginning of the year. Currently, there are around sixty-five chamber members. This list includes several businesses throughout the county, as well as area ranchers and individuals. Vendor spaces have been filled for Sagebursh Service Club’s Annual Holiday Bazaar, scheduled for Saturday, November 18 at the CCHS gymnasium. On Tuesday, October 24, friends and family gathered to celebrate Jane Brewster’s birthday. Brewster has lived a long, fulfilling life and was overjoyed when numerous people shared cards, spice cake and ice cream with her on her special day.
