The girls have been working hard on the fundamentals — ball handling, passing, and dribbling towards the basket and defensive slides. Our positionless offense still needs some work as sometimes the ball is a hot potato, and the girls just want to get rid of it. We are working on taking a couple of seconds before we pass, dribble or shoot. Mother nature was in great distress for our games last week, so therefore our Saturday game was canceled and the trip to Broadus was long and slow driving. Thankfully, with the help of some courageous drivers, we made it safely to and from Broadus on Friday. The Boys B Game was a close game the entire time, but the Bulldogs ended up with a win, 39-36! Winter moved in at Capitol and Tie Creek, this week, with snow. Monday was a nice day for working outside. Tuesday was a day of rain, and Karen Odell had three-fourths of an inch, before the snow began, that evening, bringing four or five inches. Erma Albert was glad that she could go to her chiropractor appointment right in Buffalo, on Wednesday. By Friday, there was enough snow that the Senior Citizen Dinner was canceled for the week. Two hundred twenty-one severely deteriorated gravestones at Beaver Lodge Cemetery in Ekalaka were recently replaced. One of the main reasons for the project was to preserve local history before it was forever lost. The cemetery board raised some funding to offset the cost of the project. The World Famous Miles City Bucking Horse Sale began as a way to sell some unwanted horses but soon evolved into a famous and iconic Western event. In 1950, salesyard owner, Les Boe, and his son-in-law, Bob Pauley, purchased steers from Harvey Lester of Ekalaka who threw some unbroken horses into the deal.
