    After reporting one case of COVID-19 in Carter County early last week, the Carter County COVID-19 Task Force reported a total of three active cases last Wednesday.     As of Tuesday, September 29, Montana reports a cumulative total of 12,724 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 321 new cases since yesterday, 3,454 active cases, and 9,093 patients considered recovered.     Verle Pierce, 84, of Belle Fourche died September 27, 2020 at the Hospice House in Rapid City, SD. Verle was born December 20, 1935 in Belle Fourche to Alfred "Swede" and Edith (Johnstone) Pierce.     The Carter County Senior Center will open its doors to the public on October 5th. There will be several measures taken to fulfill the requirements of Phase 2 of Governor Bullock’s reopening plan.
