    More progress was seen on the veterans memorial at Perso Park in Ekalaka earlier this week. Left, Ekalaka native Clinton Lesh stands next to the center wall of the memorial. Lesh, an artist currently residing in Belgrade, made the seals representing each military branch. On Monday he fastened them to the wall.     The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comment on a proposal to permanently store carbon dioxide in underground rock formations on public land in Carter County. The Denbury Carbon Solutions, LLC project would store carbon dioxide in more than 100,000 acres of subsurface pore space.     The last day to claim the Montana Property Tax Rebate is Monday, October 2. The Montana Department of Revenue is extending the deadline to claim the property tax rebate by one day to October 2. The original deadline in House Bill 222 was October 1. However, October 1 is a Sunday. Because taxpayers may have last minute questions, the department decided to accept claims until 11:59pm on Monday, October 2 via the department’s online portal at getmyrebate.mt.gov.     The CCHS Bulldogs won their homecoming football game, defeating the Broadus Hawks 56-28 at Rowley Field on September 22nd. The Bulldog offense was cruising, but struggles on defense kept their opponent in the contest until the fourth quarter. Blue used a thirteen play drive to score after the opening kickoff.     On September 19th, CCHS volleyball took on Northern Cheyenne Tribal School in a home varsity match. The Lady Bulldogs won handily in three straight sets, 25-5, 25-15, and 25-2. Danica Shepherd led the team in aces (8 of 31) and assists (5 of 9). Kendra Tooke and Nasya O’Connor each had 3 of the team’s 12 total kills.     Senior exercise classes will start on Monday, October 2nd, in the physical therapy room at Dahl Memorial Healthcare. The classes are held on Mondays and Thursdays from 4 to 4:50 p.m. Classes are free to the public and will include stretching, strength training, balance, cardio and optional mat work.
