There were sixteen total entries in this year's Days of '85 Pet Parade. First place went to Sameen Linch who was dressed as a pioneer woman and accompanied by a covered wagon and her pitbull, Trey, as the milk cow complete with udder and horns. The Ekalaka Bump-N-Run was hosted on Saturday during the Days of '85. Racers came from all over Montana as well as North Dakota. It was the biggest car count the association has seen in years with ten modified cars and 16 super stock cars competing. There were three heats for the super stock; the top three went to the 'A' main and the rest to the 'B' main. This week, I will go back to school for the fifty-eighth first day of school of my life, and it is bitter sweet that it will be my last first day of school. I am retiring this year after seventeen first days as a student, twenty-five first days as a teacher, and 16 first days as an administrator.
