She lived with a cousin, Hi Kelly, on a ranch on Chugwater Creek, near present day Laramie, Wyoming. Her name is featured in the center of the VFW Aux. raffle quil...

The future seemed especially promising – so much so, in fact, that most Montana homesteaders readily heeded the calls by government officials and bankers to "do their patriotic duty" and reinvest their profits in more land and machinery. "Food will Win the War!" the era's propaganda posters proclaimed, and with readily available credit, Montana's homesteaders mortgaged virtually everything in hopes of cashing in on the soaring economy. By Armistice Day in 1918, the state's p...

Shirley never did fully recover from that. But that was the Winter Olympics. This was summer! Swimming. Maybe Shirley and I could do the synchronized swimming. She insisted I start out alone...

One thing I hear frequently as a nurse when visiting with patients is, “I’m going to talk to my doctor about getting off of some of these medications!” Well… okay, but (1) Why do you want to stop medications if they are controlling your chronic health condition? And (2) What lifestyle changes have you made in order to convince your Primary Healthcare Provider (PCP) to discontinue or stop a medication? This really starts with you! No PCP is just going to say, “Okay, yeah, let’s just stop that medication which is controlling...
