On the evening of July 13, 2024, a nasty storm came through our territory, damaging a lot of members’ property and taking out numerous Southeast Electric lines. The FBC, Ekalaka, is planning to celebrate their 75th anniversary on September 14th and 15th, 2024. The church was founded around Christmas, 1949. A kickoff brunch will take place on Sat., September 14th from 10 a.m. until noon. Sourdough pancakes with all accouterments will be served. Plans for the Days of '85 are continuing as the event draws nearer. The annual county fair and rodeo is slated for Thursday, August 8th through Sunday, August 11th this year. On July 13th, the Sioux Ranger District of the Custer Gallatin National Forest experienced a thunderstorm event with winds exceeding 100mph, causing damage to some developed sites, power outages, as well as blocked roads and trails. Grace Eva McKnight passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024, in Cleburne, TX. She was born on February 9, 1926, in Ridge, MT, the daughter of Ernest and Reathel (Craft) Cadwell.
