HELENA -- The Senate passed a bill 30-to-20 Tuesday that would criminalize the abortion of a viable fetus, or a fetus that could survive outside of the womb, unless it is to save the mother’s life. The bill now has one more vote in the Senate before it moves back to the House for review. House Bill 575 would require that patients seeking an abortion get a determination of viability. The Foundation for Montana History recently announced $222,460 in funding for 29 historic preservation projects across Montana in 2023. Carter County Geological Society will receive $10,000 of that funding. Dahl Memorial Healthcare resident Janet M. Enos celebrated turning 100 years old on Tuesday with a group of family and friends at the physical therapy room of the facility. Enos was born at Houghton, New York on April 12, 1923 to parents Gilbert and Winifred Clocksene, the second daughter of four children. She moved to Montana at the age of three.
