Beings I was born in 1934 I had a real good memory of the winter of 1964 and 1965. I bought a place of my own in 1965 over between Ekalaka and Baker on Lame Jones Creek (4000 Deeded, 1640 Leased). Wallace (Wally) W. Owens of White Sulphur Springs, Montana passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at Mountainview Medical Center in White Sulphur Springs with his daughters by his side. He was 90 years old. Wallace was born on December 1, 1933 to Willett and Anna (Wallace) Owens in a log cabin in Ekalaka, Montana. He was raised on ranches in the Camp Crook, S.D. area. A new Montana State University Extension office will open in Carter County on March 18. Fallon and Carter Counties are currently served by one Extension office located in Baker. The new office will result in an additional Extension agent serving the region, according to Larry Brence, MSU Extension eastern region department head.
