CCHS opened their play in the District 4C Tournament against Jordan on Wednesday. The Bulldogs got off to a bad start and were down 4 to 17 at the end of the first quarter. Though they showed bursts of scoring, they were unable to come back, eventually losing 41-58. Mick O'Connor hit the only three-pointer for CCHS as they went 1-7 for the game. As the number one seed at the District 4C Tournament, the Lady Bulldogs easily took down the Jordan mustangs in the first round. They outscored Jordan 24-4 in the first quarter. From then on, Head Coach Kayla Olsen was able to get most of her bench some valuable minutes. Every CCHS player got in the game, and nine of the eleven got their name in the scoring column. The morning of February 10, it was -23.2 degrees at the official weather station in Ekalaka, in our back yard. Luckily, Brice doesn’t need to go outside to read temperatures, he or I can just read the numbers on the little screen on the computer counter. Hello, A couple days ago, Slate, our youngest grandson and I were moving some stuff in the barn. I have good barn cats. But they are well fed and will not work real hard at mousing. The mice had them figured out and had built a resort under feedbags that were stacked on a wooden pallet. The mice had eaten holes in the bottom of the sack so were on a wonderful diet of ground corn, distiller’s grain, and wheat mids. There will be a hunter safety course for area residents on March 3-4 at Carter County Events Center in Ekalaka. Students must attend both days of the course in order to receive a certificate.
