CCHS was tied with Jordan at the start of the fourth quarter in Ekalaka on December 21 but struggled on offense late, losing to the Mustangs, 57-63. On December 21, the Lady Bulldogs defeated Jordan by a wide margin, 65-20. CCHS had a fifteen point lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. They out rebounded the Mustangs 18-13, forced 31 turnovers and only committed 15. Tori Tooke had 11 steals and two rebounds to go along with 8 points. Twenty-one Carter County 4-H and FFA youth members weighed in 34 market steers on December 27 at the Ekalaka scale. All of the market steers that were weighed in are ranch raised here in Carter County and ranged in weight from 580-900 pounds. The average weight was 694 pounds. During the early morning on Christmas Day, Virginia "Tiny" Korene Brown passed away peacefully of natural causes. Jeane Koefelda died on December 31, 2018, at Dahl Memorial in Ekalaka, Montana. She was born in Great Falls to Frank and Ruth (Faris) Koefelda on June 12, 1926. Jeane attended Great Falls Public and Catholic schools graduating in 1944 while working at Malmstrom Air Force Base as a clerk in the Base Exchange and transport driver at Gore Air Field. On Tuesday, January 8, the CCHS Drama class will present “What’s in a Name?.” This “whodunit” was written by the drama class as last quarter’s class project.
